this is a tag cloud from the ten things i’ve marked on del.icio.us
of course, by tagging this on del.icio.us, which i did promptly after creating it, I created a mild paradox.
This is what I’m doing tonight.
MaHeyHey is an improv team I am on with my friends Mike Carlson, Jenny Lennon, Venetia Pristavec, Marty Yu, Scott Rodgers, Jonas Sansone and David Podemski. Come check it out if you like doing really fun things that cost very little money.
Also, after MaHeyHey, I’ll be performing an improvised Documentary in the 9 o’clock hour with another team called What’s Up Doc?
What’s up Doc is made up of myself, Josh Simpson, Marcy Minton, Paris Lea, Jason Horton, Kate McManus, Steve Greene, Mike Carlson and Josh Weiner.
Basically improv is my life.
My harold team, Flap Jackson, has its debut show tonight at UCBTLA! Woohoo. Click the pic for info.
It seems that advanced reservations are sold out for the show, but if you want to show up a little early, you can still get in, because there will be seats left. Also, we’re performing again next monday the 16th and on the 30th, so reserve for those shows
This may be over and it was a fair contest, but the sexism did not help at all. How we let these ‘men’ get away with talking about a sitting US Senator and presidential candidate this way is beyond me. I’d seen some of this and was appalled each time, but to see it this way is like getting hit with a sledge hammer, each time. Watch this and you’ll know why millions of women are pissed. Hell, I’m pissed. This stuff isn’t Obama’s fault, but he’s gonna catch the fallout. He should take a look at this video and say something. This crap isn’t journalism and these folks should leave the comedy to Jon Stewart. Maybe we should start living in a ‘post-cable news’ world.
Holy Stabby. You know what’s sad to me? I don’t consciously think about sexism while going about my daily life, but when I see a video like this I’m infuriated. This video captures those subtle digs and slimy suggestions and plays them back-to-back. The nasty comments about Hilary’s face, cleavage, husband’s hand, etc. is so weak and pathetic. I’m a Barack Obama supporter, but I think all the sexisim in politics, media, the workforce, etc. etc. is seriously f-d up!!!This is almost too sad and depressing to watch - the combination of thoughtless and backwards commentary and insufferable attempts at humor from people who call themselves “professional” journalists is a good reminder that we don’t live in a “post” anyting world; that misogyny is still around and unabashedly so, and that horrible bullshit like this will sadly still find an audience, whether it be in rap lyrics or on cable news.
OFFENSIVE. Shocking. Unbelievable.
